Want a clear view on every ride, whether it is drizzling on your commute or you are setting off on a long trip on a crisp morning? The Leatt Pinlock 70 MaxVision is the clear anti-fog insert Leatt sells for the visor of the ADV 7.5. It sits on the inside of the Pinlock Ready visor and stops the visor from fogging up when the air is cold or damp.
How a Pinlock works The surface of the lens attracts and holds moisture. The airtight silicone seal around its edge forms a thermal barrier together with the visor. Between them, they keep the warm, humid air inside your helmet from condensing on the cold visor. Even when you stop at traffic lights or queue for a ferry, your view stays clear.
Reliable on every ride Pinlock rates its lenses by anti-fog performance. According to Pinlock, level 70 offers reliable anti-fog performance for everyday rides. If you often ride in unpredictable weather, there is also the Leatt Pinlock 120 MaxVision XLT, with a higher level, which Pinlock also lists as a fit for the ADV 7.5.
A wide view with MaxVision A MaxVision lens sits in a dedicated recess in the visor and becomes part of it, so as much of your field of view as possible stays fog-free. You notice it on a twisty mountain road or a narrow forest trail, where you want to look far ahead and to the side.
Made for your ADV 7.5 You can ride the ADV 7.5 with a peak, with a visor, with goggles, or with visor and goggles together. Besides the standard visor, Leatt sells a photochromic, an Iriz Silver and a smoke visor for this helmet. The Pinlock Ready visor is the same part on the ADV 7.5, 8.5 and 9.5, and Pinlock lists this insert as a fit for all three helmets. Got a second visor? Fit it with an extra insert and swap visors on the road without moving the insert across.
Quick to fit Remove the visor from the helmet and check that the arrows on the Pinlock pins point outwards. Flex the visor slightly, place the insert between the two pins and check in daylight that the silicone seal rests against the visor all the way round. Then pull the protective film off the insert and put the visor back on the helmet. If the seal is not tight everywhere, turn the pins 45 degrees towards the helmet. These Two Component Pins can be adjusted with a flat screwdriver or a bank card.
Care on the road To clean it, take the insert out of the visor. Rinse insert and visor with mineral water only and gently remove any remaining marks with a clean, wet microfibre cloth. Let both dry upright before you refit the insert. The surface scratches easily, so store a loose insert in a soft cloth or plastic bag, somewhere dark, dry and free of dust.
